Dynamics of export transshipment
The leaders in the growth of export transshipment of metal products were the port of Odessa – 37.2% and the port of Mariupol – 16.7%. The largest decrease in dynamics was shown by the port of Chornomorsk – 58.8%, the port of Kherson – 28.3% and Olvia – 25.1%.

Structure of export transshipment of metal products
As for the structure of export transshipment of metal products, metal rolling traditionally prevails in it and amounts to 57-58%.
However, last year, due to an increase in pig iron exports by 20.3%, the share of this steel raw material in transshipment increased to 20%.

The entire transshipment of metal products last year in Ukrainian seaports increased by 8.8%, to 16.67 million tons.
This was due to an increase in exports and cabotage, which increased 2.7 times, including due to cabotage of cast iron and slabs from the port of Mariupol. At the same time, the transshipment of imported metal products fell by 55.5%, and transit – by 6%.
However, the dynamics of transhipment of metal products was an order of magnitude lower than the same indicator for ore. Last year, export shipments of ore through seaports increased by 35.1%.
In total, Ukrainian seaports last year handled 159.1 million tons of cargo. This is 0.5% less than in 2019. At the end of the year, the transshipment of export cargo increased by 1.7%, cabotage – by 12.2%. At the same time, negative dynamics of import and transit cargo was recorded.
